Apparently, the price of lead shot has increased, which has caused sales of lead shot to decline. Are there people out there who are sensitive to the price of led shot?
Fortunately I saw this coming and stocked up on lead shot and loaded/reloadable hulls. I have about 5K of empty compression formed AA hulls about the same of Remington STS. I got a couple hundred pounds of lead shot in sizes that I commonly use. Then I also have 2, 20mm ammo cans packed full of shotshells in various loadings. I am also looking into making a furnace to produce lead shot from scrap wheel weights I stocked for casting pistol bullets. I am the cheapo “bubba” everyone speaks of. So, no, the price change hasn’t effected me yet, but it would have if I didn’t have my supplies.

By the way, that Captain Trips name is cool, Steven King's "The Stand" was awesome. Once when I was pretty drunk with some friends, I tried to name a drink "Captain Trips" it was half Captain Morgan's and half hot sauce and stirred with a pretzel. It shared a few things in common with a nasty flu.

when i started in nov. i could go to a walmart and pick up a value pack(100 shells) for 15.97. these were winchesters. today i see them at around a dollar more, which is no big deal for me.

I used to use a shotgun to hunt squirrels but now I use a 22 as it costs me only 2 cents a shot which is a heck of a lot cheaper than 30 cents or more for shot gun shells. I also wait for shells to go on sale and pick them up at rummage sales and auctions. So yes I am sensitive to the price of ammo, any kind of ammo.

Shove the price up 1,000,000 per cent a week, I say.

ALL ammo prices have gone up, not just shotgun shells. This time last year i was paying 12 bucks for 500 22lr bullets, now I'm paying close to 16 for the same ammo. 2 years ago i was getting 500 for 10 bucks.Just yesterday i bought 2000 rounds total of 45acp, 40sw and 9mm ammo. For what I paid I could have bought 3000 rounds of the same stuff last year.
The shortage of raw materials isn't getting any better, it's getting worse, there is an expected raise in ammo prices of 20% or more by the end of this year alone!

The need to defend your self from the Have Nots, has increased. I will still buy shot, no matter the price increase.

Most of us are survivalist bubbas and have stacks of those things in our garage, so we are not that sensetive to price increases.
